Crystal Mountain has over 2,000 acres of wilderness for you and your family to explore in the summer. With over 20 miles of trails, a fine-dinning experience to be had at the Summit House and family-friendly summer events, there’s so much to do and see!
Take a scenic ride on the Mt. Rainier Gondola over meadows of wildflowers, and climb over 2,000 vertical feet to the summit of Crystal Mountain. At the top you’ll find an unparalleled view of Mt. Rainier and the Cascade Range, as well as the Summit House – the highest elevation restaurant in Washington State! Step off the gondola and stay as long as you like.
Crystal Mountain has two gift shops, one located in the base area and one at the summit of Crystal Mountain. If you’re looking for souvenirs or forgot something for your day in the mountains, the Summit Shop carries clothing, gifts, hiking essentials, Mt. Rainier Souvenirs and more. With a selection of ice cream and snacks it is a great place to grab a quick treat while enjoying the magical views outside at one of the picnic tables.
Crystal Mountain offers access to a variety of hiking trails from easy to strenuous starting at the resort. Take a ride on the Mt. Rainier Gondola (bikes are not currently allowed on the gondola but dogs are) to the summit of Crystal Mountain to hike along the ridge or back down to the base area via one of the many trail options. Or start your active adventure from the base and hike up to nearby lakes, streams, wildflower meadows.
Come ride with Chinook Pass Outfitters through the solitude and spectacular scenery of the Cascades. Enjoy glacier-fed streams, alpine meadows covered with wild flowers, unspoiled mountain lakes of the Norse Peak Wilderness, and the Wenatchee National Forest. The fragrance of pine and spruce blends with flowers, berries, and tundra grass. The creak of saddle leather measures your quiet, relaxed journey under snow-capped peaks and lazy skies.
Enjoy the beautiful views while playing this challenging yet fun 30-basket disc golf course. Start the lower course just up the slope from the Mountain Shop or take the Mt. Rainier Gondola up to start the more challenging course from the summit down.
Join us for a short (45min – 1 hour), Interpretive Walk from the Summit of Crystal Mountain. Learn about local flora and fauna, human history and the geologic processes which have shaped this unique alpine landscape. Go ahead and ask all your wilderness related questions regarding animals and vegetation to volcanoes and hiking trails and anything and everything in between.
Yoga is offered select Saturdays on the Discovery Meadow at the base of the Discovery chairlift, or in the Chapel if weather doesn’t cooperate. Classes are designed to stretch and strengthen all the muscles needed for a day of exploring the mountains. The fresh mountain air and beautiful surroundings make a perfect sanctuary for your body, mind and spirit. Please bring a mat or towel, water and a smile!
