Uphill travel Status
Uphill travel is allowed in designated areas at Crystal Mountain. Users must abide by all rules and restrictions.
Uphill travel policy
Crystal Mountain Resort and the United States Forest Service (USFS) encourage the use of public lands. Guests enjoying these permitted lands are required to abide by all Crystal Mountain and USFS safety policies, restrictions and recommendations.

Uphill travel is allowed in designated areas at Crystal Mountain. Users must abide by all rules and restrictions.


Important:
  1. If the "No Uphill Travel" lights are flashing, NO uphill travel is allowed anywhere within the ski area boundary.
  2. All uphill travelers must carry an uphill travel card. These are provided free of cost at guest services and must be carried at all times while traveling uphill within the ski area boundary.
  3. All uphill travelers are responsible for determining and abiding by current approved uphill routes and closures (See Below)

Uphill travel Rules

  • Access to Crystal Mountain Resort is at your own risk. You are assuming all the risks that are associated with the use of the resort.
  • All uphill travelers must carry a valid uphill travel card.
  • All uphill travelers must abide by current approved uphill travel routes and closures.
  • No dogs are allowed in the ski area except for qualified service animals.
  • The use of all terrain parks is prohibited.
DESIGNATED UPHILL TRAVEL ROUTE
The approved Uphill Travel route during the Winter operating season is up Discovery Meadow to Quicksilver up to the top of the Quicksilver chair. (Highlighted in pink on map below)

Occasionally all uphill travel is prohibited. Uphill travel is NOT allowed anywhere within the ski area boundary when the “No Uphill Travel” lights are flashing. The lights can be found in the following three locations in the base area:

  • Near the bottom station of the Gondola
  • Bottom lift shack of Discovery lift
  • Bottom lift shack of Chinook Express lift

Uphill travel routes before and after winter season

Generally, Uphill travel is allowed outside of the designated route before and after the winter season.
Uphill travelers are responsible for checking the Mountain Report page under uphill travel for any restrictions.
